i had cans of beer in my backpack and they wouldn't let me in. understandable on face. i won't get into the why of the beer cans, suffice to say they were just in there. and i was an upfront guy about it.
so i went in to break the news and the bouncer had a glorious and miraculous change of heart.
ohhhh you know this guy? well that changes everything. let me put that backpack in our easily accessible and otherwise empty closet.
a minute ago i wasn't good enough for the closet... what a charmed life.
preferential treatment. i don't have to like it just because i'm on the soft end of the stick. i won't always be.

like when someone completely ignores you because you have nothing to offer, but they turn into god damned diplomats when they find out that you're your sibling's sibling... that's dumb.
if that's what you're like, then the problem is the way you treat people.
